Create Beautiful Flower Arrangements

Jul 06, 2021

Florist-quality arrangements without the florist price.

An arrangement or bouquet from a florist is worth every penny for a special event or a gift but buying from a florist regularly can really add up! With quality flowers/plants at our local grocery store for a fraction of the price of the florist, this DIY is such a great option for the everyday arrangement.

What you need:

  • A turn table (mine is from the dollar store)
  • Scissors
  • Fresh flowers
  • Greenery - these are actually faux stems from afloral. This is my favorite trick for adding greenery to grocery store flowers
  • Large vase (mine is from HomeSense)

Steps:

  1. Fill your vase with fresh water and place it on the turntable – you will use the turntable to ensure the arrangement looks good from all angles.
  2. Add your greenery. These are actually faux stems from afloral; this is my favorite trick for adding greenery to grocery store flowers.
  3. Then add the largest blooms; these will add the base for the smaller flowers.
  4. Then add wispy stems and taller branches for interest. Be sure to remove any additional leaves.
  5. Finally, tuck the remaining stems of greenery at various points in the middle of the arrangement. Give your arrangement a final spin and check the balance; I personally like my arrangements to be very natural, but you might prefer a bit more of a uniform look.
