Fireplace Garland

Create this asymmetrical garland design on your mantle

Check out this step-by-step break down of how I created my mantle look this year. You will need to scale it to the size of your mantle but use this list as a starting point!

What I used:

  • 2 faux pine garlands
  • 3 faux eucalyptus garlands (mine are from Eucalypt Co)
  • 3 faux pre-lit eucalyptus garland (mine are from Canadian Tire)
  • Faux blush pink roses (mine are from Afloral) (optional)

Steps:

  1. Start with an empty fireplace.
  2. Add nails or sticky hooks to the top of your mantle – the garland will rest on the nails/hooks.
  3. Line the full length of the mantle with one faux pine garland – this acts as the base.
  4. Add the second faux pine garland to one side of your mantle and hook the tail underneath – this will create the asymmetrical effect.
  5. Add the three eucalyptus garlands; weave these along the top and drape them over the side to add layers to your asymmetrical element.
  6. Weave three pre-lit faux eucalyptus garlands throughout.
  7. Add stockings and some brass candlesticks to finish off your mantle. I don’t add too much here – I like to let the garland be the star of the show.
  8. Optional: I added some faux blush pink roses for a romantic effect.

Happy decorating!
